Quite often, I'll be walking along a hedgerow or verge and something tells me that I should go back and take another look at a leaf or stem. I almost always find something interesting when I do. I suppose it's a matter of knowing what something should look like and then being able to spot the tiny difference when it doesn't look quite right. I'm also aware of a host of things that might appear, so I'm also alert to those.
